Valve enters Twitch’s streaming domain with Steam Broadcasting
Valve’s juggernaut digital PC gaming platform Steam today added a major new feature: broadcasting. Steam Broadcasting allows Steam users to watch their friends’ games with just one press of a button.
In a statement, Valve said Steam Broadcasting was designed for “ease of use.” And indeed, it is simple. All you’ll need to do is click “Watch Game” on your friend’s profile to see their gameplay.
Valve points out that there are no strings attached—you don’t have to also own the game, pay a fee, or install any additional apps. To try out Steam Broadcasting today, all you need to do is opt in to the Steam Client Beta, which you can do through the Steam Settings panel.
Find out more about the beta here.
Now THAT’s a really cool and super nifty new feature. Can’t wait to try it out later today!
Anyone thinks this “bloody door” sequence in The Evil Within is somewhat similar to that of the “river of blood elevator” scene in The Shining, because I sure in hell do!

I wonder if Tango Gameworks had this in mind when making this part of the game(this sequence happens in Chapter 4); maybe they’re huge fans of The Shining, who knows? Or maybe this is purely coincidental, which I’m sure it is. I haven’t looked it up(laziness), but if it is, please don’t hate. :) Just found it rather cool to see this possible reference to a classic film, if that really is the case.
Purchased The Evil Within late last week(it was on sale for $22 thanks to the Steam Exploration Sale that has now just ended, which I could not believe considering the title is still pretty much new) and finally just started playing it, which by the way I highly recommend anyone who is a fan of survival-horror games to buy it, like now! Even though $59 is high, it’s still easily worth that price tag. But be prepared for a ton of blood and gore because Tango Gameworks seriously spared no expense in the blood and gore category. The below video of what I call the “Bloody Door” sequence is a small taste of how much blood really is in the game.
And if you need further convincing, then you should download and play the demo which includes the first three chapters.

Photosensitivity Warning in The Evil Within…
Never a good sign when you see this in a game. ;)
Just started playing the survival-horror game that is The Evil Within (Demo) on Steam and am actually really enjoying it. Just finished the first chapter which took place in a blood-filled nut house.
It’s not exactly a game where you have to try to sneak around very carefully, wary of being found out and then hunted, which I think is kind of cool. The Evil Within is definitely not about stealth but about a lot of action, lots of chase scenes and trying to do things as quick as possible without being gutted like a fish with a badge. And well, don’t forget about the buckets and buckets of blood and a ton of gore. I like it.
And so far I’ve experienced one death scene where as the crazy chainsaw-welding maniac used his trusty friend there(above) to drive it right through my back and out my front, with a fountain of my own blood going everywhere. Not exactly the greatest way to go, but hey, at least the pain only lasted a few nerve-shattering seconds.
And there is one thing(which I’m sure many do not like) I really dig is the fact that the game has a letterbox feature. Kind of plays out like a detective horror-drama of some kind. That’s cool.
